Year of Inception

The Gilman Program is congressionally funded and named after the late Congressman Benjamin A. Gilman (R-NY). It is a program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and has been administered by the Institute of International Education since 2001.
