Event Details

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program (the Gilman Program) invites U.S. colleges and universities to submit a proposal to conceptualize, design, and implement the Gilman Climate Leaders Virtual Seminar Series for current participants and alumni of the Gilman Program. The request for proposals (RFP) is being issued by the Institute of International Education (IIE), which supports the U.S. Department of State in its implementation of the Gilman Program.

The goal of the Gilman Climate Leaders Virtual Seminar Series is to enhance attendees’ understanding of the climate crisis through a foreign policy lens, including its social, political and economic impacts, with an eye towards environmental sustainability. The Gilman Climate Leaders Virtual Seminar Series will consist of eight, ninety-minute live virtual seminars, with one seminar occurring per week. IIE anticipates awarding one contract to a U.S. institution for up to $20,000. For more details or if you are interested in applying to host the Gilman Climate Leaders Virtual Seminar Series, please go to IIE’s Solicitations for Goods and Services page (https://www.iie.org/Work-With-Us/Subawards-Procurements/Solicitations-for-Goods-and-Services) to view the RFP and Budget Template.

Benefits of implementing the Gilman Climate Leaders Virtual Seminar Series:
• Demonstrate the institution’s leadership in the field of climate change and environmental sustainability.
• Provide professional development and knowledge to a group of talented, diverse, and globally engaged young Americans
• Engage directly with the U.S. Department of State and IIE.
• Receive recognition as a program partner in Gilman promotional materials, press releases, website, and social media.
