Gilman Alumni Ambassadors serve as official representatives of the U.S. Department of State’s Gilman International Scholarship Program. They provide testimonials about their Gilman Scholarship experiences at campus presentations and offer application tips via written articles, videos, webinars, and special events. The Gilman Alumni Ambassadors have been trained by the Gilman Scholarship Program.

  • Applicants must have completed their study or internship abroad experience (virtual or in-person).
  • Applicants must have completed their Follow-on Service Project and submitted their report. *This requirement is waived if you have returned from your study/internship abroad program within the past six months or have a valid extension.*
  • Applicants must be living in the United States between August 2021-August 2022.
  • Applicants must be available to participate in the live, online training July 19-21, 2021, and August 16, 2021. The training is anticipated to begin at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time on July 19 and 20 and is anticipated to last until 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time, with a 45 minute lunch break and a 15 minute coffee break both days. The training on July 21 is anticipated to take place from 12:00- 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The training on August 16 is anticipated to take place from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Participating in all elements of the live training is essential and required.
