Re-entry Information
Many Gilman scholars face challenges when returning home from abroad. Re-entry from study or intern abroad is a psychological stage of re-adjustment that you experience while acclimating back to your home culture.
The packet below includes resources tailored to Gilman Scholars who returned to the U.S. early due to the impacts of COVID-19. Please review this packet for tips on helping you reflect on your experience overseas (however brief it might have been), coping with stress and anxiety, and articulating what you learned from your program and early return.
The Gilman Program also hosts re-entry webinars twice a year for Gilman scholars who are preparing to return home or have recently returned home. You can view a recording of our most recent re-entry webinar below and be sure to sign up for the alumni newsletter to find out about upcoming webinars.
The following video series discusses some common challenges associated with returning from study abroad. Review these videos to learn more about overcoming challenges and having a successful re-entry experience.
