Gilman Scholar Bethany Pruitt (United Kingdom, 2019) spent this fall at De Montfort University in Leicester. A first-generation Biology major at Towson University, Bethany is taking criminology-based courses at De Montfort, which touch on an early career ambition—crime scene investigator. Bethany is also a Gilman-Reach the World blogger where she communicates monthly with a U.S. K–12 classroom via video chats. In those conversations, she shares her thoughts on her classes and what it’s like to travel and study.
“It has given me the opportunity to travel the world and meet so many amazing people,” shared Bethany with Towson University News. “During my time abroad, I’ve gotten a chance to meet people from all over the world. Through getting to know so many different people I’ve learned that no matter where you come from in life, you can always change the future for the better.”
