Gilman Alumna Alyssa Kaewwilai (Samoa, Spring 2019) was recently interviewed with the Chicago Tribune and Pioneer Press on her internship with NASA’s satellite data center. Alyssa spent her summer as an Earth Data GIS Software Engineering intern at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
“As a first-generation Thai-American female scholar in STEM, I can think of countless reasons to endorse the value of girls pursuing scientific interests! Despite any adversity an individual may encounter in life, it is crucial that they believe in themselves and find the courage to pursue their passions,” told the Gilman Alumna to Chicago Tribune.
